What Bolton wiring is usually like
Bolton is a mill town and the housing reflects it, long rows of Victorian terraces through Farnworth, Halliwell and Great Lever, stone cottages out towards Bromley Cross and Egerton and large postwar estates in Horwich and Westhoughton. In the older terraces we still find original rubber or lead-sheathed cable, single-socket rooms and boards with no RCD at all. A lot of these are rented, so the EICR and its remedial list is often the starting point rather than the work itself. On the newer estates the wiring is usually sound but the boards are full, which limits what you can add without upgrading first.
