Who we are

Mister Electrics is a family-run electrical contractor based in Burnage, Manchester and the data controller for the information described here. Our 24/7 emergency service trades as The Emergency Electricians and is operated by the same business.

What we collect and why

We collect only what a job needs.

• Name, phone number, email and property address: to respond to your enquiry, quote, book and invoice
• Photos you send of the job: to price it and plan the work
• Details of the electrical installation and test results: to produce certificates, which we are required to keep
• Payment details: processed by our payment provider, never stored by us
• Website usage data: only if you accept analytics cookies, see the cookie policy

Legal basis

We process your data to perform a contract with you (quoting and carrying out work), to meet legal obligations (retaining certificates and notifying Building Control) and where we have a legitimate interest (following up an enquiry you made, or asking for a review after a job). We do not rely on consent except for optional cookies and marketing, which we do not currently send.

Who we share it with

Building Control, for notifiable work. The Distribution Network Operator, for EV charger and supply notifications. Your letting agent, where you ask us to send reports to them. Our accountant and payment provider. Netlify, which hosts this website and processes form submissions. We never sell data or share it with advertisers.

How long we keep it

Certificates and test results: at least six years, as required for our insurance and as good practice, often longer because customers ask for copies years later. Quotes not taken up: twelve months. Enquiry form submissions: twelve months. Accounting records: six years. Photos of the job: deleted once the job is closed unless they form part of the certificate file.

Your rights

You can ask for a copy of what we hold, ask us to correct it, ask us to delete it where we have no legal duty to keep it and object to processing based on legitimate interest. Email info@misterelectrics.co.uk and we will respond within one month. You can complain to the Information Commissioner at ico.org.uk if you are unhappy with our response.

Security

Data is stored in password-protected cloud systems with two-factor authentication. Paper certificates are scanned and shredded. We do not store card details.
