The problem
A converted double garage with an extension lead running from the house and no lighting on a long, dark driveway.
What we did
Armoured supply trenched to the outbuilding with its own consumer unit, sockets and LED lighting, plus low-level driveway lighting on a photocell and timer.
Result
Safe, certified supply instead of a trailing lead and a driveway you can see on in December.

Consumer unit replacement and fault-find, Alderley Edge

The problem
Board tripping intermittently at night with no obvious cause and no one able to pin it down.
What we did
Systematic insulation-resistance testing circuit by circuit traced the fault to water ingress at an outdoor socket on a garden circuit. Socket and damaged cable section replaced, then a new board with RCBOs so a single fault can no longer take out the house.
Result
No further trips. One faulty circuit now isolates itself instead of killing the lights.
