What we did
New 18th-edition board with RCBOs and SPD, dedicated hob and oven circuits run correctly sized and two ageing socket circuits tested and re-terminated.
Result
Kitchen installed on time and the house now has spare capacity for a charger later.

The problem

What we did
Armoured cable trenched to the office with its own small board, sockets, LED lighting and a heater circuit, plus an external light on the path.
Result
Office usable year round on a safe, certified supply instead of a lead across the lawn.

What Poynton wiring is usually like

Poynton is largely 1960s and 70s estate housing with older cottages around Higher Poynton and Adlington and larger detached properties towards Prestbury. The estate stock is a specific case: wiring of a similar age across whole streets, boards that were adequate in 1972 and are not now and aluminium or early PVC cabling in some runs.
